Culinary event at the French School (Lycée Bonaparte) with the presence of Ambassador Eric Chevallier (19 March) [ar]

A culinary event took place at the Bonaparte French school on Thursday March 19 with the presence of Ambassador Eric Chevallier. The event marked the end of the Francophone and cultures week that was held at the French School from Sunday March 15 to Thursday March 19. The evening gathered children and families of more than 40 different nationalities, in the presence of a number of Ambassadors.

On this occasion, H.E. Mr. Eric Chevallier, Ambassador of France in Qatar commented: “I take this opportunity to say that speaking French does not mean to speak it instead of another language; speaking French means speaking it alongside another language. We encourage multilingualism and emphasize on the importance of diversity and the respect of all languages and cultures. In this regard, Bonaparte school is a perfect example of diversity, as this evening gathers more than 40 different nationalities, showing that the French language is not only dynamic, but also open –minded and that it attracts different communities which have the French language in common. Allow me to thank all the families that participated in making this event a success. The Francophonie celebrations continue in Doha. As of Saturday, many events will be held; it is a public invitation and we hope to see you all there”.
