France Ambassador Opens the Qatar-France Academia & Industry Forum Initiative on Energy and Environment (05/12/2016)

Ambassador Eric Chevallier took part to the first edition of the Qatar France Academia Industry Forum on Energy and Environment. The initiative will pave the way to concrete collaboration between France and Qatar in innovation policies in the fields of energy and environment.
SE. Ambassador Eric Chevallier said that : " The 2016 Qatar France Academia Industry Forum Initiative on Energy and Environment, the first of its kind, is held under the high Patronage of Qatar Foundation, Qatar University and the Embassy of France. It brings together during 2 days the best Qatari and French academics and scientists as well as representatives of industry entities, involved in Energy and Environment. Concrete outcomes are expected in terms of collaborations in academia, in training and in research. I am extremely pleased that H.E. Sheikha Hind bint Hamad Al Thani, Vice-chair and CEO of Qatar Foundation, and Dr Hassan Al-Derham, President of Qatar University, honored us with their presence.

My strong belief is that Universities and Higher Education Institutes should be placed at the center of innovation policies and must engage with industry to enrich the innovation potential and improve the learning and teaching environments.
Qatar, through its “National Vision 2030” as well as through Qatar University and Qatar Foundation activities, has engaged in sustainable development, relying on ground breaking research, innovation and cutting edge technology.
In this perspective, the Qatar France Academia-Industry Forum Initiative is aiming at reinforcing academic and industrial French participation to Qatar’s knowledge-based economy and capacity building."
